Haircut 100 became as well-known for the preppie outfits they wore as much as MTV bubblegum like Love Plus One and Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), two of the most endearing songs of the '80s. Both singles hit the Top Ten in Britain in 1982. Other hits included Fantastic Day and Nobody's Fool.

Hearing Haircut 100's music on the radio still makes the sun shine, so when they take the stage at Let's Rock the Moor! prepare to be up-lifted!

Howard Jones

Howard Jones at Lets Rock The Moor! 2010

It was in 1983 that Howard Jones released his first single 'New Song' in the UK. The expectation was that it might sell a few thousand copies and introduce his fresh new music to an unsuspecting world. The reality was quite different. The single steadily climbed the UK chart to peak at No. 3.

Then came the second single 'What Is Love?' which reached No. 2 in the UK and the third single, the enigmatic 'Hide and Seek' which showed the spiritual side of Howard Jones' writing. This was followed by the first album 'Human's Lib' which came straight in at No. 1 in the UK in April 1984, eventually going platinum and which took the synthesiser and Howard to a new plateau. This success spread across the globe with 'Human's Lib' going gold in the USA, Japan, Germany, Italy and Australia.

With a large and loyal fanbase and album sales now exceeding eight million, this consummate musician and writer has maintained an admirable independence, writing, recording, performing and touring in the way only he knows how. He has proved that he is one of the most talented writers and performers out there. His independent attitude and his ability and willingness to take risks ensure that he continues to operate on the cutting edge of today's music.

The Quotes

The Quotes at Lets Rock The Moor 2010

The Quotes settled in their final incarnation in early 2010. From day one, the Reading four-piece attracted media attention and their constant gigging and prestigious festival appearances - not to mention album and EP releases - have earned them a well-established fan base. Their epic, sexy and polished rock sound has caught the inspiration of many a radio DJ, promoter and - most importantly - music fan.

2009 began with a string of European dates and has seen the band play support slots for Hockey, The Charlatans and, perhaps bizarrely, Goldie Lookin' Chain as well as at five major festivals in the South East, including Let's Rock The Moor! 2009. Consistent coverage in the local press as well as considerable air time and radio appearances thanks to BBC Berkshire, BBC London and BBC 6 have helped raise The Quotes' profile over the last year, and with professional representation and an eager street team, the only way is up.

The Mean Red Spiders

With his powerful voice and on-stage charisma, Lance Gerrard-Wright leads this unique bunch of guys in what is probably Cookham's best kept muical secret. Together with David, Simon, John, Rich, Tom, Matt and Rob, Lance will belt out classics from The Killers, Scissor Sisters, Amy Winehouse, The Kaisers and many more.

Well known and loved in Cookham and the surround areas, this band work hard and have big ambitions. A regular on the Private party scene, they have a large and growing fanbase that just cant get enough of these guys!

Prepare to be entertained.

Burdock

Cookham's very own Burdock is lead by Mark Perry (Lead Vocals) and Jim Cunningham (Bass). Joined by James (Lead Guitar), Pete (Bongo's and Congo's) and Mark (Backing Vocals/Percussion), these local lads play a mix of originals and covers.

In their accoustic set, you'll hear Razorlight, Sam Sparrow, Madonna and the Wombats as well as their own, innovative music. All in a fabulous style that only Mark and Burdock can deliver.

RedRoots

RedRoots at Lets Rock The Moor 2010

After supporting Pete Doherty and Graham Coxon on Tour in 2009, and winning XFM's Best Unsigned Band, RedRoots are one to look out for in 2010.

From RedRoots you will hear the best of Pop Ska, including the Specials Rudeboy Bonhomie, the clatter of Indie, ethnic afro beats and synth sounds. It's all in there in a breathless eclectic mix. Just like Outkast, they are re-writing the rules of Pop Ska music by picking and mixing it together, into their own sound.

RedRoots are made up of four vocalists and lyricists from West London - Tony Sami, Nico Flowers, Mark Hebden and Sam Tims.

Their music is delivered with a carefree charisma. RedRoots know how to work a stage and bounce around like naturals, and with an exciting live show that's not to be missed, they are one of the most electrifying new bands you will see this year.

The band are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to their debut album, yet to be titled, due for release in early 2010 and they will be announcing their UK tour dates very soon.
